Fujitsu at the Movies

Twice a year, Fujitsu holds a networking event to thank its partners: Fujitsu at the Movies. At a cinema complex, Fujitsu Belgium hosts its contacts – with their partner – to enjoy a pleasant movie night together. After a short, informal introduction, they can enjoy the film. Of course the necessary finger foods & drinks are provided, as well as the mandatory bag of popcorn.

Drive-in with blockbuster

2020 was a bit different, however. The impact of the coronavirus was enormous. And yet Fujitsu insisted on thanking its partners, for as a result of massive teleworking, the entire supply chain had to get all hands on deck to ensure that clients’ every IT need was met. In the winter, the planned event could still take place, but for the summer movie night, an alternative had to be found as cinemas were not allowed to open. So in consultation with the client, we turned our attention to the option of a drive-in cinema.

The blockbuster chosen was Back to the Future. Yup, for many people, this was a moment of nostalgia for their youth, with Marty McFly and Doc in the legendary DeLorean. Location of the event: Tour & Taxis in Brussels. A nice gimmick: the film takes place in 1985, and in 2020 Fujitsu itself turned 85. These are the sorts of details we look for ;-)

Popcorn!

For the event, the All Colors of Communication content team produced a fun text, playing on the storyline of the blockbuster. Our design department produced a glitzy invitation that Fujitsu sent to its partners.

During the next stages, All Colors of Communication managed the production. When Fujitsu’s partners arrived on the Tour&Taxis site on a September evening, they were all welcomed by the Fujitsu promotional team. Upon arrival, they were immediately greeted by Fujitsu banners and billboards. They each received a goodie bag with some snacks and drinks, with a big bag of popcorn – an essential part of any evening at the movies. Once they had parked in the right spot and set their radios to the right channel, they were treated to a short Fujitsu introductory film followed by the evening’s blockbuster.

Being a film star

The partners of Fujitsu in attendance were not only figuratively but also literally the ‘stars of the evening’. During the event, an aftermovie was made – with the guests of Fujitsu in the starring role. The aftermovie was sent to the attendees’ mailbox later on, and the film was also distributed via Fujitsu’s social media channels.

That’s all, folks! ;-)
