LeasePlan goes electric
Ten years ago, LeasePlan Belgium was the first leasing company in our country to include an electric vehicle in its fleet. It now seeks to maintain this pioneering role in pursuit of sustainable mobility with an ambitious and strategic plan. First of all, by converting its own fleet to electric by the end of 2021, and by making its entire client offer emission-free by 2030.
Greatest delivery of Polestar 2
It is in this context that the delivery of the Polestar 2 cars to its own staff should be seen. This model was revealed only a few weeks ago at the - virtual - Brussels Motor Show. Delivering 30 cars so soon after the launch of the model attracted well-deserved press attention. LeasePlan opted for a press conference where the strict coronavirus measures posed an additional difficulty. It meant that you could not just get everyone to gather around and in the car.
The handover of these electric vehicles also served as the perfect occasion to tell the story behind their own electrification strategy and to shine the spotlight on the changing market. After the presentation, the journalists present had a chance to interview LeasePlan's managing directors. And the LeasePlan staff were there to share their experience with driving electric cars. Anyone who wanted could also get behind the wheel of the Polestar 2 to try out this unique driving experience.

We succeeded in bringing in the most important automotive media (including Fleet TV) and a few business media outlets (including Trends/Tendances) to the event. This brought not only live coverage, but our communication about the event led to several additional interviews afterwards which focused on the thought leadership and vision of LeasePlan. Further requests for a test drive came from major media sources that had not yet had a chance to give this model a spin.
